PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Papanyana Minerals and Concor JV, has been awarded the work by Anglo American Platinum to construct a tailings storage facility (TSF) and undertake interface construction at the Blinkwater tailings dam on the Mogalakwena mine near Mokopane, Limpopo province. Interface work comprises layer sealing the dam on the inner face of the TSF impoundment wall, compacted to 95% proctor density. Auxiliary works have also been awarded as a separate contract including topsoil removal. A notable challenge on this project is the need to work in confined spaces, particularly on the interface section, where road width is confined to 6 meters. Activities in the scope of work consisted of: Load and Haul and placement of waste material to TSF, Load and Haul and placement of subsoil material to TSF, Earthworks for the const ruction of a new dewatering pipeline, Topsoil stripping & Cleaning of a sludge dam.
